Our Mission and Services
Since 1919, Children's Dental Services (CDS) is dedicated to improving the oral health of children from families with low incomes by providing accessible treatment and education to our diverse community. CDS provides a full range of dental services to children from birth until age twenty-one and to pregnant women. CDS' hours are:  Monday, Thursday, Friday, 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Additionally, CDS is open every Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

TIMBERWOLVES MASCOT TEACHES KIDS ABOUT GOOD ORAL HEALTH

"Crunch" visited three of CDS locations: MN State Academy for the Blind in Faribault, S.G. Reinertsen Elementary in Moorhead, and Laura MacArthur Elementary in Duluth. DENTAL THERAPY

CDS employs the first dental therapist in Minnesota, Christy Jo Fogarty, who is helping to expand restorative care to hundreds of children and pregnant women! **Children's Dental Services is pleased to provide care in partnership with Smiles Across Minnesota in the Twin Cities, Duluth, Faribault, the Iron Range, the St. Cloud region, the International Falls region, and the Fargo/Moorhead region; through this important initiative in partnership with Oral Health America, Delta Dental, United Way, 3M and others thousands of low-income children are receiving access to

comprehensive dental care.

AWARDS FOR CDS

  • CDS is the proud recipient of the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits Mission Innovations Award in 2006 for its portable care program. Watch the YouTube Video to learn more!
  • CDS' Executive Director, Sarah Wovcha, is the 2007 recipient of the Betty Hubbard Maternal and Child Health Leadership Award.
  • In 2008, CDS was awarded the Governor's Green Award which includes recognition of its energy efficient lighting, increased insulation, natural flooring, no VOC paint, raingarden, white reflective roof, solar panels, and rainbarrels.

New Patients

CDS is always accepting new patients at all of our over three-hundred sites. Services provided only to children attending specific institutions are indicated in red on the location list. Click on the location to retrieve site name and a transportation map for that site.
